01Your challenge
Sample challenge, based on a common two-step setup. Static means the floor stays at $9,000 no matter how high you go. The floor counts open trades too (equity), and the daily limit counts from the previous day's balance.
02Your system
A slow system with a real edge. It makes money from a few big winners, so patience is part of the plan.
03Test setup and results
555 trades from January 2020 to October 2026, costs included: +191R on TradingView data, +114R on broker candles. For prop planning we use both, and plan for the weaker one.
04Risk options
We started the system from every possible trade in the history and checked what happened next. "Fail" means equity reaching −9% (1% kept free for open trades).
| Risk per trade | $ per trade | Chance of failing | Worst drop | Typical time to +10% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.25% | $25 | 0% / 0% | 4–5% | 11–15 months |
| 0.3% | $30 | 0% / 0% | 4–6% | 9–13 months |
| 0.5% | $50 | 0% / 0.7% | 7–10% | 5–7 months |
| 0.75% | $75 | 1.6% / 10% | 11–14% | 4–5 months |
Pairs of numbers are TradingView / broker data.
05Daily limit
At most 2 trades are open at once (1 buy, 1 sell), so a single bad day stays small. The daily limit is never the danger with this system.
06Static vs trailing
The same worst drop means very different things under each rule:
| At 0.5% risk | Static (floor fixed at $9,000) | Trailing (floor follows your high) |
|---|---|---|
| Worst drop from a peak | 7–10% | 7–10% |
| Breaks the 10% rule? | Almost never, since profits build a cushion | Yes, on broker data |
| Safe risk | Up to 0.5% | 0.25–0.3% |
This challenge is static, which suits a slow system with occasional deep drops.
07Our plan for you
Our plan for you
- Start at 0.3% per trade ($30). Failure chance near 0%.
- Once you're up 3% or more, move to 0.5% ($50). The cushion protects the floor.
- Never above 0.5% on this challenge. Max 1 buy and 1 sell open.
- Expect phase 1 to take months, not weeks. Speed is the price of safety.
